Hospital trust launches rainbow badge inclusion survey

University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) is seeking feedback from patients who have had a hospital appointment in the last 12 months to help understand how inclusive services are to members of the LGBT+ community.

Some 40 NHS trusts are taking part in the anonymous two-minute survey, commissioned by NHS England as part of the national NHS Rainbow Badge Scheme. The results of the survey will help trusts gain foundation, bronze, silver or gold accreditation based on their current LGBT+ inclusion work.

Debbie Robinson, diversity and inclusion lead at UHD, said: “Inclusivity is one of our core values at UHD and we want to ensure we honour this for all of our patients, colleagues and visitors.

“We would like as many of our patients and service users as possible, whether they are part of the LGBT+ community or not, to complete this survey. The feedback will be essential in supporting our work to reduce the barriers to healthcare that are faced by the LGBT+ community.”

You do not have to be LGBT+ to complete the survey. Click here to respond or visit www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/Q7QBSM/
