From pre-school hijinks to teen drama – why early years matter

On the World Day of Theatre and Performance for Children and Young People, we take a look at the diverse range of shows aimed at early years audiences – and their grown-ups – that can be seen at Lighthouse this Spring.

The international campaign promoted through the message ‘Take A Child to the Theatre Today’ makes the case for children’s entitlement to theatre, performance and the arts, wherever they are.

Age is no barrier to the joy and magic of live performance – in fact, participating in creative activity, even as a member of an audience, has been shown to improve communication skills, boost confidence and strengthen resilience in young people from an early age.

In the coming weeks alone there are shows for all ages ranging from interactive puppets and live action to teen drama and groovy music.
