Independent record shop, Vinyl Van is hosting a special live music performance in Dorchester’s Brewery Square on Friday 23rd September as local indie band, The Chesterfields celebrate the launch of their new album.
‘New Modern Homes’ features 12 new songs and marks a milestone moment in the band’s history as it comes 28 years after their last album launch. The Chesterfields came to prominence in 1986 and have since embarked on multiple UK and European tours, released four albums and various records which have made the top 10 in independent UK music charts.
Mark Smith, Owner of Vinyl Van, said: “When Simon (Barber – on bass and vocals) asked about the band launching their new album in the shop, we were delighted to oblige. I’ve known Simon for a long time, and he helped us out by designing our Vinyl Van Logo when we started out. This is the perfect opportunity for us to return the favour and bring another evening of fantastic live music to Dorchester.”
Charlotte Spracklen, Centre Manager at Brewery Square commented: “Our visitors love to discover unique new talent from our region, so it’s a pleasure to continue hosting local acts at Brewery Square. Vinyl Van’s events always create a buzz, so we’re excited to see the launch bring the Square to life once again on Friday.”
Signed copies of ‘New Modern Homes’ will be available at Vinyl Van on the night, with doors open at 7pm on Friday 23rd September.
The Chesterfields are playing various gigs locally to showcase their new album, including the Lyric Theatre, Bridport on 24th September in association with Clocktower Music, and other locations in the South West throughout September and October.
