ROB NEWMAN: WHERE THE WILD THINGS WERE - Lighthouse Poole, Saturday 27 September

Lighthouse is delighted to welcome back comedy superstar Rob Newman with Where the Wild Things Are, a barnstorming new stand-up show about where we are and where we’re going.

From future cities and philistine film directors, to Dorothy Parker’s Multiverse Diaries. Throw in Pythagorean gangsters, intellectual bingo callers and a crazy character called Arlo – and the result is a hilarious tour-de force utterly unlike anything else you will ever see anywhere else!

Having made his name in the 1990s on radio and TV with David Baddiel in the Mary Whitehouse Experience – famously the first comedy act to sell out Wembley Arena – Rob pursued a literary career, returning to comedy with more politically-charged material and a clear social conscience. Presenting shows as a mix of lecture and stand up, he has covered topics such as evolution, the war on terror and the history of oil.

Tickets go on sale at 10am on Friday 16 May at https://www.lighthousepoole.co.uk or phone 01202 280000.
