Staff at UK-based OnBuy.com, one of the world’s fastest-growing online marketplaces*, are in training to prepare themselves to compete in the Bournemouth Half Marathon on Sunday October 10.
Ten staff, including members from the finance, development, recruitment, marketing and brand team, will be running the 13.1-mile coastal route in aid of Julia’s House, the Dorset and Wiltshire children’s hospice which helps children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families.
Aron Cody, Chief Marketing Officer at OnBuy, says: “Entering the Bournemouth Half Marathon isn’t just about race day, it’s about building a team, training together and putting staff health and wellbeing high on the agenda – all while raising funds for an important cause. Judging by the number of staff taking part in the race, we certainly have an active and healthy workforce.”
“We chose to run for Julia’s House as we are inspired by their incredible work supporting families of children with life-limiting conditions and aim to raise £2,000 for the charity. Every £100 raised, will help Julia’s House to provide an hour of care at home for a life-limited child and provide respite for their family.”
“We’re so grateful for the support of the OnBuy team and wish them lots of luck with their training,” says Julia’s House Public Fundraising manager, Laura Maidment. “Support from local businesses makes such a difference to our fundraising, which in turn makes a huge difference to the most vulnerable children and families in our community. We’ll be there on the day cheering on the OnBuy runners! Thank you to everyone on the team.”
