New role created to boost Platinum Skies homeowners’ happiness and wellbeing

A new role has been created at luxury independent-living provider, Platinum Skies, which will focus solely on the happiness and wellbeing of the homeowners.

Laura Warwick has joined the Platinum Skies team as Director of Lifestyle, Wellbeing and Entertainment, where she will be focusing on organising events and hosting community activities to bring the homeowners together to enrich their physical and mental wellbeing.

Laura has a wealth of knowledge in the lifestyle services sector, having previously worked for the premium cruise ship firm, Cunard, before going on to work for a UK-wide retirement community provider. As well as working with the existing residents, Laura will also be looking to form links with local clubs and the wider business community who can share their knowledge, skills, and services with the homeowners.

Laura Warwick, Director of Lifestyle, Wellbeing, and Entertainment at Platinum Skies, said: “I am thrilled to join the Platinum Skies team at an exciting time in the growth of the business. We have lots of fantastic plans in place to entertain our homeowners as the government guidance enables us to gradually bring them together outdoors to enjoy the warmer weather. I’m looking forward to meeting more of the homeowners, working with local businesses, and supporting our Community Managers. Together with our homeowners, we will grow and develop our Platinum Skies communities to be some of the happiest places to live in the UK.”

Platinum Skies has a host of communities based across Dorset, Wiltshire, and Somerset which enable people aged 55 and over to live independently in an apartment, house, or cottage, which they can purchase under the government-backed shared ownership scheme. The communities feature communal facilities such as an owner's lounge, bistro and bar area, activities room, and treatment room to enable the homeowners to relax and unwind.

All Platinum Skies homes also benefit from a dedicated onsite Community Manager who helps to build a dynamic community amongst the homeowners and organises fun activities such as cheese and wine evenings, yoga, quizzes, and crafts. The Community Managers also offer practical and emotional support to the homeowners.

David Hines, Chief Executive of Platinum Skies, said: “We were looking for somebody with unstinting energy, enthusiasm, creativity, and innovation to join our team and we have found that with Laura and her wealth of experience. She is completely on board with our mission to bring the best possible offering to our homeowners and is keen to ensure that they live a healthy, happy, and fulfilled life as part of our community. We have some really exciting plans in the coming months and we look forward to making that happen with Laura’s help.”

Platinum Skies, which is part of the Affordable Housing and Healthcare Group (AHH), is a registered provider of luxury and affordable homes, which is regulated by Homes England, a government agency, which helps to deliver affordable independent-living sites.

Viewings for all Platinum Skies properties are available through a virtual tour and in-person with enhanced Covid-safe measures in place for the safety of visitors, homeowners, and the team.
