“It’s a philosophy, an inclusive way of life centred on including everyone, therefore after the past year, we want to become part of our new community, as family, friends and colleagues join us for stylish or relaxed celebrations.”
Prince has poured his heart and soul into Mbuntu, crafting recipes and creating an extensive drinks’ selection, as well as working on the decor during lockdown to transform the former hotel.
He continued: “Our aim is be a local community hotspot where people can enjoy good quality affordable food and drink. We can cater for weddings and birthday parties, plus private functions, we have a large private garden and are committed to engaging with the immediate community to support events which promote our fellow local businesses and organisations.
“The world has been through so much during the past year, which is why it is important to socialise safely, sample some different worldwide cuisine and enjoy our setting, which is close to the river with picturesque walks.
“The pandemic has seen people join forces to help others and that strong community bond has led to supporting local suppliers. With hospitality and leisure venues re-opening we are really delighted to move here at this time.”
Amongst signature dishes will be a Japanese katsu curry, Italian pasta and Mexican burritos, complemented by cocktails and soft drinks.
Open for lunch and dinner, Mbuntu is determined to keep prices affordable, offering a £6 lunch box from Monday to Friday, whilst children aged five and under eat free on Sundays from 12-3pm; it’s also planning special themed dining offers and live music at weekends.
