hArt Named as Mayor's Chosen Charity

hArt, the art therapy charity, is both delighted and proud to have been chosen as Charity of the Year by the new Mayor of Lymington and Pennington, Councillor Jack Davies.

This comes at a particularly exciting time for hArt, which is in the process of merging with Coda Music Trust, where hArt has located its office for the past two and a half years. The working partnership with Coda has grown over the years, and both charities have decided the time is right to become Coda Music and Arts Trust, a change which will take place over the next six months.

hArt, which uses creative therapies to support the mental health of people of all ages and abilities across the New Forest, supports traditional mental health services at a time of crisis and helps to meet the needs of people experiencing loneliness, anxiety, depression and lack of confidence.

The charity continues its regular work in Lymington and Pennington and with the support of the Mayor, will also deliver a new Arts on Prescription programme in Pennington this Autumn in addition to continuing its weekly Creative Wellbeing sessions at St Mark's Church Hall.

hArt founder and trustee, Annie Jeffery, said "We are delighted to receive the support of the Mayor for our work with people in Lymington and Pennington, and look forward an exciting and productive year ahead."
