Ghost story smash and 60s legends top the bill as new shows go on sale

Whether it’s a classic West End chiller, concerts by stellar music legends, a new adaptation of a ballet staple, live versions of smash hit podcasts, top films or a superstar family entertainer, Lighthouse Poole has something for everyone in its latest programming round up of new shows on sale.

Having proved a hit with Lighthouse audiences in 2023, the legendary adaptation of Susan Hill’s ghost story The Woman In Black – seen by more than 7 million people worldwide – is set to return in 2026 (17-21 February) to delight and terrify audiences of all generations.

They raised the rafters in the Theatre last September and the Amy Winehouse Band are back to play the Concert Hall on 15 November – this time with an orchestra! The band is led by Amy’s long-time musical director and friend, bassist Dale Davis, and features the incredible vocals of Bronte Shandé providing a fitting celebration of one of the greatest talents of her generation.

Fans of powerhouse vocals from two of the all-time greats who came to the fore singing R&B in the 1960s will be delighted to see Lulu (3 May) and PP Arnold (13 June) on the programme. Both are in the form of their lives, mixing stellar back catalogue numbers with new material. Ocean Colour Scene’s Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison revisit the band’s Britpop heyday in an intimate acoustic show in the Theatre on 18 October, just three days after revered folk singer songwriter Martin Simpson makes a welcome return to the Sherling Studio.

Ballet Cymru are back in Poole on 13 June with a new adaptation of Giselle featuring the innovative choreography by Darius James OBE and Amy Doughty; and comedy fans are in for a treat as Scummy Mummies return on 11 July with an all-new show.

At the other end of the audience age range, CBeebies’ superstar Justin Fletcher brings his latest show Justin Time To Rock to Lighthouse on 30 October. Comedy writer Danny Robins’ smash hit podcast Uncanny is back in Poole to record Afraid of the Dark on 25 October; and deadpan pun master Milton Jones brings his new show Ham!lton to Lighthouse on 8 November.
