Felicity runs the entire 630-mile South West Coast Path for Diverse Abilities

Local woman, Felicity Hooper, took on an exceptional challenge and ran the whole of the South West Coast Path, a grand total of 630 miles and 115,000ft elevation.

Felicity took on the challenge starting in Minehead, Somerset, and ended at South Haven Point, Studland, greeted by friends and family.

As well as completing the challenge, Felicity was raising money for The Bike Project, a charity which collects second hand bikes and donates them to refugees and people seeking asylum in the UK, and for Diverse Abilities, Dorset’s Disability Charity, which makes every day better for children and adults with disabilities.

Felicity raised an incredible £2,263 plus a further £549 donated by her employer Investec Wealth & Investment.

Felicity Hooper commented: “I wanted to raise money for Diverse Abilities as my brother has mild learning difficulties and has used their services in the past. I know how important it is to have the right support and the right access to education for individuals and their families. I love the fact that the charity’s ethos is to enable the people they support to achieve their full potential.”

Diverse Abilities is encouraging individuals and groups to ‘Do Something Amazing’ and create their own event or challenge to provide exceptional lives for the people supported by the charity. The opportunities are endless, whether fundraisers want to host their own events, take on a sponsored swim or encourage friends to dance their way through a Zumbathon.

Those looking to fundraise can create their own amazing activity, or find inspiration and sign up at diverseabilities.org.uk/dsa or contact fundraising@diverseabilities.org.uk for more information.
