Early years matter - family spring season at Lighthouse

Lighthouse Poole | Press Release • February 28, 2025

From pre-school hijinks to teen drama – why early years matter

Age is no barrier to the joy and magic of live performance – in fact, participating in creative activity, even as a member of an audience, has been shown to improve communication skills, boost confidence and strengthen resilience in young people from an early age.

With a diverse range of shows aimed at early years audiences – and their grown-ups – Lighthouse is acutely aware that for nearly 50 years many young people’s first encounters with live entertainment have been in its venues, which is why at least 20% of its programme is aimed at young people.

In the coming weeks alone there are shows for all ages ranging from interactive puppets and live action to teen drama and groovy music.
