A Dorset law firm has gained coveted recognition for its excellence in an influential legal guide.

Ellis Jones Solicitors’ private wealth disputes team and two of its leading lawyers, Carla Brown and Lauren Day, were ranked highly in the newly published Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide.

The law firm – with more than 170 staff and 22 partners – has six offices.

Ellis Jones’ private wealth disputes team, which advises on contentious and non-contentious trust and estate matters, was rated in band 2 for the South. 

Its team was described as ‘well regarded by clients’ and was ‘particularly noted for its diligence and client service’.

Comments from clients described the firm as ‘amazing’, ‘very efficient and easy to deal with’ and ‘highly professional’.

Carla Brown, who is a partner and head of wills, trust and probate, was one of just two individuals ranked in Band 1 – the top tier – in Southampton and Surrounds for private wealth law.

She was described as a ‘highly experienced wealth law expert’ who provides a ‘highly efficient and effective service’ and has ‘provided exceptionally good support and advice’.

Lauren Day, who is a partner and head of dispute resolution, was ranked in Band 3 for private wealth disputes in the South.

She was hailed in the guide as a ‘well-regarded’, ‘very calm’ and ‘outstanding’ solicitor who is ‘compassionate, focused and transparent’. One client described Lauren as ‘absolutely superb during a stressful situation’.

It is the second year running that the private wealth disputes team and Lauren have been ranked. Carla has been ranked for at least five successive years, including the last two in the top tier.
