Brewery Square to host ‘out of this world’ performance for Dorchester Science Week

Dorchester’s Brewery Square is offering a free, interactive extra-terrestrial experience for families on Saturday 18th March to celebrate Dorchester Science Festival (10th – 19th March).

‘The Discovery Lab’ is part participatory science workshop and part improvised theatre performance by not-for-profit theatre and community arts company Brave Bold Drama. The story follows a pair of travelling aliens on an Earth exploration mission.

Families can take part in a variety of fun, quirky science experiments, with young ‘Earth experts’ encouraged to share their knowledge and help create a unique experience. Having captured participants’ knowledge about the wonders of science, intergalactic explorers Orchy and Kela will reframe and present these discoveries back to the audience in a quirky, memorable and accessible way through the medium of live performance.

Tara Bailey, Centre Manager at Brewery Square, said: “We're proud to support Dorchester Science Festival for the second year running with a captivating workshop and performance from Brave Bold Drama.

"It's fantastic to work with our community to celebrate science in all its glory, educating children and adults alike through engaging activities. Last year's event went down a storm and we can't wait to see the buzz that this year’s events bring to our town."

The performance at Brewery Square is suitable for ages 6 and above. Advance ticket bookings are essential and can be made by visiting the Brewery Square concierge or calling 01305 267777.
